Turghot and Dragam Layouts

Worked with that first scene a bit and did two of the other establishing shots. Each of the three locations has it's own texture set, with their apartment being assorted pieces of paper, the alley is all rust, and the park is different watercolour splashes I did up. I may still mess with the saturation in the park, I'm not sure it looks how I want it to yet.

In my humble and clueless opinion, the pink in the park is a bit distracting. And I'm not sure if all the texturing doesn't clash with the lineart a bit... But then again, I have to stress the fact that I literally know next to nothing about the art and craft.

I may desaturate them a bit then. I'm trying to take a cue from Flapjack style-wise, where all the the colours are textured and the characters are flats, as opposed to the Chowder look where all the characters are textured and the layouts are fairly flat. I'm trying to keep the texture in the background there, but turn down the contrast enough that it's not jarring.

Again, I have to stress the fact that I do no really know what I'm talking about. Just saying.

Don' gotta have a lot of art experience to have a valid opinion of what's pleasant to look at.

nice art here!
I really appreciated your comentary on story and character down below. I whole heartedly agree with you that people rely on gimik instead of a solid character. People get to concerned with the flashy flashy of how nice a movie looks, and forget that film making is about telling a story visually. People seek books to conect with the characters in the books, and same with movies.
but yes, good on you. and I wish you luck with your film.
